The Fifth Wheel Company teams up with Bangor University
The Fifth Wheel Company welcomed a group of Product Design students from Bangor University for an exclusive tour of their factory to educate them about the production processes of their bespoke caravans.
The visit is part of an ongoing partnership between the Fifth Wheel Company and the University, where the company and students work to develop new lighting fixtures to enhance the current products.
During the visit students pitched their initial ideas to Gethin Whiteley the Design Director at the Fifth Wheel Company and receive feedback on their initial concept ideas.
Last year’s winner Adam Edwards designed interchangeable interior lights for caravans that could be customised to suit the customer’s interior colour schemes. Adam will be joining The Fifth Wheel Company on an eight week placement after Christmas, where he will get the chance to develop his project further.
Gethin Whiteley said: “Last year’s projects were very successful and we are hoping to integrate some of the ideas into future models, the challenge is set for this years students to improve on last years projects.”
In the New Year the design team at the Fifth Wheel company will be attending a workshop at Bangor University to provide additional support to the students.
